The Portuguese press has been very serious about Tottenham Hotspur’s last moves for Bruno Fernandes this morning.

Earlier today, we covered claims from Record which said Spurs are interested in matching Sporting’s demands of €70m for the player, and closing in on a transfer.

Now it turns out that Correio da Manhã brings a story explaining how focused the Premier League side are on winning the race for the midfielder.

They claim Tottenham will soon be making an official bid, and it will be bigger than all the offers that other English clubs have made for him so far.

Correio da Manhã claims Manchester City made a bid of €55m, while Manchester United offered €70m plus €10m in bonuses. But Tottenham are looking to make a bigger one and win this competition.

Fernandes’ agent Miguel Pinho is said to be in London, where he will meet Spurs and listen to what they have to offer.

The player’s potential move to London continues to be totally linked to Christian Eriksen’s possible departure.

As we covered earlier, it’s not clear what the actual situation is here. Manchester United have been linked since February, but their own interest may be related to Paul Pogba.

Then again, it’s possible their name has been used to flush out other interest, or maybe Tottenham are being used to pressure United. It’s headache inducing.
