Much like Paul Pogba, Christian Eriksen finds himself in a situation where he’d quite like to try something new, but getting a club to stump up the fee to sign him is proving difficult.

The midfielder has just one year left on his contract at Tottenham, and while Real Madrid are reportedly interested, the La Liga side have spent a large chunk of their money elsewhere, like Luka Jovic and Eden Hazard.

That being said, Spurs continue to look on the market just in case someone turns up with the required amount to sign the Denmark international, and AS in Spain reckon Dani Ceballos is part of the list.

The outlet believe ‘many teams’ are after the Spaniard, but one is ‘ringing’ louder than the others: Tottenham.

We know what you’re thinking: Why not use Ceballos as a makeweight in the Eriksen deal?

Well, AS talk about that, explaining that ‘at no time’ has there been talk of such a deal taking place, even if the two players swapping teams could be beneficial for both.

The Spanish newspaper explain Ceballos has all but sealed his future at Real Madrid, telling Zinedine Zidane he didn’t want to continue working with him when the Frenchman explained his plans for next season didn’t include the 22-year-old.

Now, he just needs to find himself a new club.
