Galatasaray winger Bruma has spoken to the media at the team’s training camp in Antalya. The youngster was asked about his future at Galatasaray after recent links with Tottenham Hotspur.
Bruma confirmed talks have started with Galatasaray over a new contract and said: “I’ll gladly accept it, of course. (the new contract). I’m very happy at Galatasaray, I’m enjoying every single moment here. It’s of course flattering when you have been linked with a move to abroad but I am currently under contract at Galatasaray and I’ll honour it. If the club is ready to offer me a new deal, I’ll gladly accept it.”
Bruma was also asked about if he dreams of playing any specific team: ”No, there’s no team. I’m happy at Galatasaray. While I am at Galatasaray it’s not ethical for me to speak about other clubs.”
Despite this comments, Fotomaç today report Tottenham are ready put in a bid for Bruma.
The newspaper claims legendary goalkeeper Brad Friedel is ready to represent Tottenham in order to sign Bruma, after Daniel Levy gave him the go ahead.
Friedel is currently an ambassador for Tottenham in his home country and the former USA international is allegedly ready to use his good connections at Galatasaray to land Bruma for the Premier League side. Friedel played for Galatasaray and his involvement could be a good decision by Levy.
Galatasaray won’t even think of a sale if the bid is lower than €20m claim Fotomaç. CimBom are currently under pressure because of the remaining length of Bruma’s contract but despite that, Galatasaray won’t sell their player on cheap just yet.
The Friedel claims are certainly interesting, but maybe hard to believe. Having only played 30 games for Galatasaray, in the 95/96 season, it would take a big leap of faith to believe he could help Tottenham more than 20 years later.
Bruma to Tottenham rumours going to go anywhere before the window shuts, and even then this is likely to drag on until the summer. The player is very keen on playing in England, and probably hopes Pochettino will make his dream come true.
