With Romelu Lukaku pushing for a transfer back to Inter, the idea that Lautaro Martinez could leave is re-emerging.
Naturally, Tottenham are the ones to be thrown right in the middle of it all, since Antonio Conte knows the player well from their time at San Siro together.
Not only that, but Fabio Paratici already gave the transfer a go last year, when he reportedly bid around €95m for the Argentina international around the same time Harry Kane was pushing to leave Tottenham.
The Englishman eventually stayed put, as did Martinez, but with Spurs now in the Champions League, depth in the squad will be crucial to keep growing.
TuttoMercatoWeb stated earlier on Friday that Tottenham are ready to make another move, with Alfredo Pedulla then claiming an offer in excess of €90m could be on its way.
That seemed excessive, since a year has gone past since the €95m offer from last year, and La Repubblica have more reasonable figures in their brief report on the matter.
The newspaper, on their website, state Conte and Paratici, after a year, ‘return to the charge for the Argentine’, who is the club’s ‘first target for the attacking department’.
That’s despite the fact the player isn’t interested in leaving Italy anytime soon, but it’s pointed out the Premier League side are ‘ready to reach €75m’ for his services.
Whether that’s enough, however, remains to be seen.
