Tuttomercatoweb have decided to relaunch the Ivan Perisic to Tottenham rumour.
The Croatian, 30 years of age and on high wages, has looked an unlikely Spurs target every time the links have resurfaced, but the Italian media have been insistent that Mauricio Pochettino’s side are keen.
Perisic decided towards the end of the January window that he wanted to leave Inter Milan, but there were no offers suitable. He’s not been shy of talking up a desire to play in the Premier League, and that’s of course where Tottenham are.
The London club are said to be monitoring the situation, and if the claims are correct they’ll know Inter Milan have reduced their asking price to €35m.
Tottenham are ‘ready to offer’ €25m, leaving €10m as the gap.
That amount is ‘not an easy distance to fill’, with the suggestion being neither Spurs or Inter appear ready to compromise much.
Therefore, Perisic could stay, but it’s stated a lot could rest on what happens with Mauro Icardi… which could be anything given the drama around the striker.
