Tottenham Hotspur have emerged as a concrete option for Juventus’ Dejan Kulusevski.
On Friday, multiple claims from Italy stated the two clubs have agreed on the figures of the transfer, which includes a €1m loan fee plus an additional €30m to make the stay permanent.
However, Spurs and the Serie A side didn’t find an agreement over the transfer formula. The latter wanted to include a compulsory obligation, while the north London club were looking for a simple option to buy the winger.
Sky Italia now explain the two clubs have been able to overcome the ‘impasse on the formula’ to bring the 21-year-old to England.
Antonio Conte’s side have ‘accepted’ to take Kulusevski on loan, with obligation to buy for close to €40m, linked to certain number of appearances or if they qualify for next season’s Champions League.
Early on Sunday morning, Gianluca Di Marzio provided a fresh update, that brings the Sweden international closer to the London club. It’s stated Massimiliano Allegri’s side and Tottenham have ‘reached an agreement for the transfer of Dejan Kulusevski’.
Spurs will initially take the player on an onerous loan by making a payment of €5m, with the obligation to redeem set at €35m, if they make it to the Europe’s top club competition or if the wideman features in certain number of matches for Conte’s side.
The website further explains the attacker is ‘expected in London in the next few hours’, meaning the transfer is close to being sealed.
Kulusevski’s agent Alessandro Lucci managed to the meet the needs of his client and both the clubs to help the deal take shape.
