Patrik Schick to Tottenham is a story that refuses to go away, despite the Italian media being convinced the young striker is going to remain in Italy next season.

Earlier on Monday, we covered a story from TuttoMercatoWeb that a Spurs scout was once again spotted at a Sampdoria game, suggesting they are continuously keeping tabs on the Czech Republic international.

This idea of Mauricio Pochettino ensuring the 21-year-old is the real deal correlates perfectly with what Gazzetta dello Sport reported over the weekend, that Tottenham are ‘pushing strongly in recent hours’ to get a deal done for the Sampdoria starlet.

However, the same article explains Inter Milan, despite all their troubles this season, remain the favourites in the race to sign him, with ‘everything agreed’ regarding the transfer, including the matching of his €25m release clause.

Still, Gazzetta insist Inter need to move quickly to seal the deal in the next couple of weeks, meaning all this advantage could be wasted if they take their time.

After all, if a Champions League club is interested in you and your first choice takes too long to make their mind up, why would you sit around and wait?
