Despite the news that Clement Lenglet had travelled to undergo a medical ahead of a move to Tottenham, it’s all gone a bit quiet.
After 24 hours or so of silence, Sport give us an update, saying Spurs are ‘pushing to sign Lenglet in the next few hours’.
That’s because the London side ‘want the centre-back to go on tour in South Korea this Saturday’ with them, and while ‘there is an agreement between the clubs’, it’s ‘salary tax issues’ that are holding up the deal.
The two sides are ‘working against the clock to try to close all the fringes of the loan agreement for a season’, then allowing Tottenham to announce the signing.
In fact, ‘the outcome may be imminent’ as Spurs want him to travel in their preseason squad, which would allow Antonio Conte to work with him throughout to help him integrate his team better.
It all appears to be heading in the right direction, and it’s just the final details being sorted.
