On December 9th, the Daily Star in England had an exclusive report, in which they claimed Barcelona are keen on signing Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane in a deal worth £200m.

It was claimed the La Liga winners want the England international to replace Luis Suarez, who will turn 32 next month and is struggling with knee injuries.

The north London club face Ernesto Valverde’s side in the Champions League on Tuesday and the Star’s report further suggested that an impressive performance from the 25-year-old at the Camp Nou would further convince them.

Sport takes a look at the claims made by the British publication in Monday’s edition of the Catalan newspaper and they state the Blaugrana have no plans to make an investment of £200m on signing one player.

In addition to this, the report from Spain goes on to point out that Suarez has continued to deliver season after season, which is why Barca are not thinking about replacing him.

This campaign, Suarez has scored 10 goals and registered four assists in 14 league appearances.

So, unless the Daily Star know better than the media closest to Barcelona, there’s nothing to see here.
