As Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Højbjerg continues to be linked with a move to Italy, it seems his agents are working hard to get that move sorted.
The latest news on the 28-year-old’s future comes from Calcio Mercato, who claim that the player was offered to AC Milan.
The Rossoneri are indeed looking to buy a new player for that position in the next transfer window, and in ‘recent days’, Højbjerg’s name was put on the table.
The Tottenham man didn’t excite Milan, though. Calcio Mercato claims that due to ‘age and economic reasons’, the Serie A side haven’t opened talks for the move.
Højbjerg had already been linked to a few Italian clubs in the past few months, and this rejection from Milan may be a sign that he doesn’t have such a long list of interested sides there.
Still struggling to hold a starting place at Tottenham, the midfielder has a contract with the club expiring next year, and that may favour a departure this summer.
With him valued by Transfermarkt at €20m, it seems the price demanded by Spurs will be crucial to draw interest from Serie A sides.
