Here’s one more Premier League player who’s spoken to the South American press this week. Now it was time for Juan Foyth to give TNT an interview via Instagram.
Just like usual, the Tottenham Hotspur defender has spoken about the hard time in quarantine while they wait for the Coronavirus crisis to end.
But there was also a lot of football to talk about, and the quote TNT used in their headline is when Foyth suggests Spurs should sign a player from his former club Estudiantes.
He’s been asked which player from El Pincha he’d indicate to José Mourinho, and said ‘I’d bring Titi’, referring to 22-year-old winger Lucas Rodriguez.
But things got a little more serious when speaking of his future at Tottenham. Foyrth claims he’d like to play more, and can’t guarantee that he’s staying at the club for next season.
“You always want to play to feel like a player and feel good. It isn’t easy not to play either. But I don’t know, we have to wait now for the transfer window to open. If I am going to have opportunities here, I will be very comfortable. And if they won’t count on me, the best thing will be to find another club.
“I would like to stay in Europe, all leagues have a high level. My wish is to play at the highest level as long as I can. The main thing is to play.”
Regarding finishing his career at his former club Estudiantes, Foyth said: “Estudiantes is a place where I was very happy, I’d like to be able to retire at Estudiantes if they want me. It would be a dream. Estudiantes have that sense of belonging.”
Foyth has also revealed that there’s a Tottenham player who supports an Argentine side. That’s Hugo Lloris, who claims to be a fan of Racing.
“Hugo Lloris is a Racing fan and he keeps saying, ‘Come on, Racing’. He was a partner of Lisandro Lopez and that’s where it happened.”
