Pau López may not be having any game time at Tottenham, but certainly hasn’t been forgotten in Spain.

The goalkeeper, who signed for the Spurs on a one-year loan deal from Espanyol, is still to make his debut in England.

He joined the club to be a backup because of Hugo Lloris’ injury, which left the Frenchman out for a few matches. But Lloris recovered quickly, and even in games when the number one hasn’t been used, it’s Michael Vorm who’s been getting chances.

Now AS claims that Pau López still has several offers to return to La Liga in another loan deal.

Espanyol, the club who López belongs to, are currently receiving offers for their reserve goalkeeper, Roberto Jiménez. But they don’t want to let him go.

That’s good and bad news for López. Good because he’s still wanted in Spain. Bad because if Espanyol are thinking of keeping their second goalkeeper, that means he won’t get many chances there either.

AS don’t say if the loan offers would already be for the January market.

Pau Lopez signing for Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham didn’t make sense in the summer. He’d become frustrated after Espanyol decided he wouldn’t be first choice, the Spanish club banking on experience instead, and left for a club where he has zero chance of being first choice.
