The Danish media would dearly love Christian Eriksen to sign for what they consider to be a bigger club than Tottenham.

For years any half baked rumour has been grasped and turned into a series of articles, with Barcelona the club which seems to get the Danish reporters most excited.

Therefore nearly every time Eriksen leaves Tottenham to go on international duty he’s quizzed on his future and potentially leaving the Premier League club, and this time is no different.

Back with Denmark as the country prepares for pre-World Cup friendlies, Eriksen has been quoted by Ekstra Bladet as saying: “I’m playing football in the present. You have dreams and that’s one thing. But what’s realistic is the first time when it’s on the table. Right now, I think most people are happy to be in Tottenham, and I am too. We are well on the way and towards the top of the Premier League.”

Eriksen has made previous comments about not considering a transfer until there’s an offer on the table, and he may share the Danish media’s dreams of a move to Barcelona or perhaps Real Madrid.

But the Tottenham star doesn’t appear ready to agitate for a transfer, and, as he says, there can be countless rumours but it will only really matter when there’s an offer on the table.
