Brought in as an emergency loan after an injury to Luke Shaw, Tottenham’s Sergio Regulion has struggled for minutes in the north of England.
His manager has even made it clear he could return to Spurs in the January transfer window once everyone is back to full fitness, and when he does, he will have served his purpose.
The problem for Tottenham is that if Reguilon does return, he will find no space at the London club, which is why Estadio Deportivo explain a move to Spain could be on the cards.
They point out the Spaniard would be ‘open to returning’ to his home country in the January transfer window should that opportunity become available to him.
Not only that, he also ‘wouldn’t lack girlfriends’, meaning clubs who are interested in him, and ‘it is not at all ruled out’ that he could make a La Liga comeback.
Everyone remembers how well he played for Sevilla during his loan from Real Madrid, which is what earned him his move to Tottenham in the first place.
Reguilon ‘would welcome playing in Spain’ again, and if the right offer comes along, we doubt Spurs would stand in his way.
