Barcelona have identified Tottenham Hotspur’s Tanguy Ndombele as a transfer target for January, according to Sport.

The La Liga side were keen on signing Georginio Wijnaldum on a free transfer in the last window, but he ended up at Paris Saint-Germain. Barcelona ended up without any new midfielder, and also allowed Ilaix Moriba to seal a switch to RB Leipzig.

Ronaldo Koeman thinks it’s ‘necessary’ for Barca to strengthen the centre of the pitch in January.

The Spurs man is among four players on the agenda of the Spanish club for the winter market.

Although he has started to featured regularly last month, Sport say the Frenchman ‘does not finish settling in the English club’.  The north London side signed him for ‘around €60m’ from Lyon in 2019.

It’s claimed the player was ‘already offered’ to Barcelona in the summer. For the amount he cost, ‘around €60m’, Ndombele would have an option to arrive at the Camp Nou in January, but through an initial loan deal.

Adding to the Tottenham midfleder, AC Milan’s Franck Kessié, Inter’s Marcelo Brozović and Manchester United’s Donny van de Beek are the other three targets for Barca.
