Last week, journalist Pipe Sierra stated Davinson Sánchez has decided not to continue at Tottenham Hotspur even though he still has a year left on his deal.
Sierra also said the Colombia international would prefer to play in a new league despite receiving interest from other sides in England. The 27-year-old could consider leaving Europe and returning to South America in this window.
According to Globo Esporte, the Tottenham defender is open to joining Flamengo after he was ‘offered’ to them.
The outlet states a ‘person close’ to the centre-back has informed the club he’s interested in making a switch to Flamengo. The same source also stressed his salary demands would be in the same region as the ‘main players’ of the Brazilian side.
Flamengo see the Tottenham man as a top-quality player and haven’t yet ruled him out. However, their main focus is on strengthening other areas, including the defensive midfield position.
Globo say Flamengo are currently working on signing both River Plate’s Nicolás de la Cruz and Atlético Mineiro’s Allan.
This wouldn’t be encouraging for Sánchez, who, as per his entourage, is keen to join the South American side.
