On August 10th, we carried a report from AS, who explained Valencia’s operation to sign Tottenham Hotspur’s Bryan Gil is ‘going very fast’.
It was also stated the La Liga side are hoping to close a deal for the winger in the coming days.
This hasn’t happened yet and the 21-year-old is still at Tottenham. He spent the second half of last season on loan at the Mestalla and the two parties have not forgotten each other.
That’s according to ElDesmarque, who state the ex-Sevilla man is the ‘most prominent’ and ‘urgent’ signing needed at Valencia before the window closes.
Gennaro Gattuso’s side and the Spain international are ‘waiting’ to find each other again. The former made contact with Tottenham earlier in the window and after Gonçalo Guedes’ sale to Wolverhampton Wanderers on August 8th, ‘things have accelerated’ for Gil.
Antonio Conte and his side no longer count on Gil and their idea is to earn money through his sale. If they cannot sell him, then Spurs would want a fee to let him go out on loan. Should the Spanish club fail to sign him, they will look at alternatives.

Meanwhile, journalist Héctor Gómez took to Twitter to explain Tottenham ‘stop the exit of Bryan Gil’. There’s no mention of any reason why Spurs have stopped it.
Gómez adds Valencia are looking at Lille’s Timothy Weah and Watford’s Ignacio Pussetto as alternatives to Gil.
