Following a year at Tottenham Hotspur, it seems Ivan Perisic could already return to Inter Milan.
This possibility is today raised by Italian newspaper Tuttosport (via FCInter1908).
It’s claimed that following a ‘not exciting’ season at Tottenham, who did not qualify for the Champions League, Perisic already sent ‘several messages’ about his comeback to the Nerazzurri.
The player hasn’t hidden his affection for Inter Milan, as he even showed up at the San Siro for the so called Euroderby this month.
Tuttosport writes that the Serie A giants are ‘not opposed’ to that deal, but a couple of factors are needed first.
One is the potential exit of Robin Gosens to open a place in the squad. Then Perisic himself would need to ‘sacrifice’ part of his salary, since he makes €6m per season at Tottenham.
The newspaper mentions the operation as ‘Lukaku style’, and that probably means Inter Milan would be landing him on a loan deal, although Perisic only has a contract with Tottenham until 2024, meaning there would need to be an obligation to buy included for that to happen.
The Croatia international had one goal and 12 assists in 44 appearances in his first season for Spurs.
