As Tanguy Ndombele’s loan at Napoli comes to an end, it’s time for him to return to Tottenham Hotspur.
The midfielder’s stay at the Serie A side was already considered unlikely, and outlet Il Mattino now covers his departure.
It’s said Ndombele has ‘already packed his bags’ and his ready to return to Tottenham after a ‘gregarious season’.
Napoli had the chance to make his move permanent for a fee of €30m, but didn’t consider paying that much.
Il Mattino highlights that the player ‘never managed to carve out a leading role’ in the team, and was always an ‘alternative’ in their midfield this season.
With him failing to impress, his return to Tottenham shouldn’t be glorious either. It’s pointed out that he’ll ‘almost certainly’ be off to somewhere else in the summer.
Since the summer market is just heating up, we’re still to see big rumours of where Ndombele can land next. Spurs may have paid €62m to sign him from Lyon in 2019, but with Transfermarkt currently valuing him at €25m, it’s clear the London side can’t request a lot for his sale.
