On Thursday more claims come from France about Moussa Sissoko’s situation, and his relationship with Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Sissoko’s move from Newcastle United to Tottenham clearly didn’t work out too well for Spurs, and that’s been of great interest to the French media over the past year.

Didier Deschamps has continued to select Sissoko for France, despite the player’s lack of game time at Tottenham and other options being available, but with the World Cup on the horizon, something has to change.

If Sissoko had another season on the Tottenham bench then it would be difficult, although not impossible, for Deschamps to keep the faith ahead of the World Cup in Russia.

In an article looking at the transfer situation of several France internationals, L’Equipe inevitably turn to Sissoko.

The French newspaper point out that Sissoko has been given some game time already this season as he awaits a transfer, making it sound like Spurs have done the midfielder a favour.

It’s then stated this has happened despite the player’s ‘almost nonexistent relations’ with manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Whilst that may have been true at one point, it could be a stretch now. Pochettino isn’t Sissoko’s greatest fan, but perhaps the situation has thawed enough to be cordial, with the pair almost sharing an embrace as the Frenchman was substituted against Newcastle United.
