Tottenham Hotspur are in the picture to sign Borussia Dortmund’s Julian Brandt and RB Leipzig’s Joško Gvardiol, according to claims from Germany.
The Germany international has nine goals and five assists this season and has a deal until 2024. According to Bild, Tottenham are showing interest in the 27-year-old attacking midfielder.
BVB have asked his camp for a date to hold negotiations about his renewal. Spurs interest isn’t the only reason why their sporting director, Sebastian Kehl, is speeding up the renewal efforts.
Dortmund want to retain the player and are willing to offer him a deal worth €7m per year. They are pushing for a decision before the end of this season.
Brandt wants to go into the talks ‘openly’ as a move to the Premier League would appeal to him. The BVB man isn’t the only Bundesliga player on the north London club’s radar.
Another report from Bild states Tottenham are among a few clubs to have Gvardiol’s name on their target list. The Croatian defender has a €112m release clause while Leipzig would be ready to talk about his sale if there’s an offer of €100m.
Gvardiol had recently told UEFA that his goal is to move to England. Meanwhile, the Premier League is appealing to Brandt. These two factors could favour Tottenham, if they manage to overcome competition.
