Tottenham have opened talks with Inter Milan forward Ivan Perisic over a loan move until the end of the season.
That’s according to Fussball Transfers, who say Mourinho and co have reignited their interest from the summer transfer window.
The website explains that there was contact between Tottenham and Perisic in the summer, with Manchester United having also shown an interest.
A move to either never happened, with the Croatian instead returning to Inter Milan from a loan spell with Bayern Munich.
His return to Italy has not been a successful one, though, with him managing just two goals and three assists in 21 games so far.
The Nerazzurri would, therefore ‘not put any obstacles’ in the way of the 31-year-old should a suitable offer arrive.
Tottenham are keen to take advantage of that after they ‘put out feelers’ in the summer and ‘negotiations are ongoing’ with the player over a loan move.
The belief is that Perisic could replace Gareth Bale, who has struggled with injuries since a return from Real Madrid in the summer.
Whether Spurs have initiated any talks with Inter Milan isn’t mentioned, although FT very much present a deal as not very difficult to get done.
Any interest in Perisic won’t come as a shock either. Mourinho is a known fan of the forward and wanted him at Manchester United following the 2018 World Cup.
He’s regularly been linked with him ever since, and that persistent rumour has followed him to Tottenham as well.
