‘Cold War between Real Madrid and Gareth Bale’ says Marca.

The Spanish capital club want to get rid of the 29-year-old and the newspaper is trying to help them find possible destinations for the Wales international.

According to the report, one of the clubs the forward could join in the summer is Tottenham Hotspur.

But why Spurs?

He currently earns €17m per year at Santiago Bernabeu and the English side will not be able to afford his wages.

Despite the aforementioned situation, Marca believes ‘returning to Tottenham is an option that Bale has never ruled out’.

Marca claims Los Blancos have a formula and they explain the plan is to loan out their player to his former club, but that is clearly not liked by Bale.

The report does not specify if Mauricio Pochettino’s side are interested in signing their former player, either on loan or a permanent deal.

It’s just that Marca are putting forward options for Bale because Real Madrid are keen on offloading him in the summer, while he and his agent are referring to the three years left on the contract as Bale wants to continue with his current employer.
