Arkadiusz Milik couldn’t manage to get a move away from Napoli in the summer despite there being repeat claims of interest from Serie A and the Premier League.

From England, Tottenham were pushed forward as one of the potentials suitors and the Italian media still continue to state the north London side retain an interest in the striker.

The 26-year-old’s contract expires next summer and Gennaro Gattuso has not included him in his plans for this season.

The Poland international could push for a move away from Napoli in January in search of regular playing time, which is vital if he’s to represent his country at the postponed Euro 2020.

Friday’s edition of AS explains Atlético Madrid looked at the former Ajax man in the last window, but their financial situation prevented them from signing him.

Diego Costa’s medical condition could see the La Liga side try to bring a new striker next month. Costa also has over six months left on his contract and if he ends up leaving in January, Milik is the chosen one to replace him.

However, the Napoli frontman has further interest for the winter market and that’s when it’s stated he has the ‘option’ to join Tottenham. The report adds Atlético will ‘compete for his services’.

Apart from saying José Mourinho’s side are an ‘option’ for Milik, AS doesn’t provide any other information about the possibility of Spurs signing the player in January.
