Tottenham have contacted Dusan Vlahovic’s agent ahead of a possible move for the Fiorentina striker this summer.
That’s what Corriere Dello Sport report today, stating that Tottenham have ‘been talking’ to Darko Ristic to bring the player to London.
They explain that after scoring 21 goals for a team that struggled for much of last season, interest in the 21-year-old was expected at some point.
Tottenham have long been linked with a move, especially since Fabio Paratici arrived at the club, and now they have made their first move by opening a dialogue with his agent yesterday.
It’s believed they are ‘willing to spend important figures’ to sign Vlahovic, although there have not been any ‘negotiations’ as such.
Their contacts with Ristic have been more ‘contacts or reciprocal talks’, according to Corriere, who believe they’ve been held to ‘prepare’ the path rather than get the ball rolling on a transfer.
Indeed, they make it clear that Fiorentina are yet to be formally approached by Tottenham and the Italian side’s focus remains on getting Vlahovic to sign a new deal until 2025.
With talks between Ristic and Tottenham happening, though, and Harry Kane’s future yet to be clearly defined, there is clearly a growing sense that Spurs could make their move at some point.
They’ve certainly opened the door to that happening, at least, and this is one to keep an eye on as the transfer window continues to roll on.
