Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of Gabriel Magalhães is highlighted by Spanish outlet Fichajes today.
Their report comes up saying the Premier League side are offering €30m for the signing of the Lille defender this summer.
With Fichajes being Fichajes, they never make it clear if the information is their own, always using the verbs in a conditional tense.
They say the deal could be found for that amount, even though the numbers are similar to the ones offered by Serie A side Napoli. Real Madrid are said to be interested in the player as well.
The report claims that the signing of Gabriel Magalhães is a personal request from manager José Mourinho, who’s aware of Tottenham’s defensive problems and wants reinforcements for the next season.
Even though Fichajes’ story isn’t the most strong and convincing one, they’re bringing something new here by saying Tottenham are offering €30m. Rumours from the weekend said Spurs were willing to spend only €20m, and that made a deal very unlikely.
