With the transfer of Georges-Kevin N’Koudou surely not very far around the corner, Tottenham’s transfer window should be all but done.
That is unless they spot a good youngster they can bring in for relatively cheap, and that’s what they seem to have found in Chateauroux’s Jean-Philippe Mateta.
Showing flair by scoring a back heel flick for his first, as well as great positioning and an ability to strike the ball from distance for his second and third, the youngster has, according to L’Equipe, been offered a four-year contract by both clubs.
However, the French newspaper make it clear getting the forward will not be easy as Michel Estevan, the National club’s new manager, wants to keep him in order to help his side get back to France’s second division as soon as possible.
No fee is mentioned as of yet, but considering his age and the level he currently plays at, as well as the fact Montpellier are interested (they don’t have much money), it won’t be ludicrous.
