On Sunday, an article appeared on Téléfoot’s website providing an update on Tottenham and the Adrien Rabiot situation.

The past few weeks have seen a number of reports claiming Spurs were after the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, but as time has gone by, it seems the two parties have grown further apart.

It all started when Paris United claimed Daniel Levy refused to meet Rabiot’s wages demands despite being willing to give him €10m up front as a signing on fee.

Then came Téléfoot, stating Spurs would rather make a deal in the summer than January, explaining the Premier League side weren’t as keen as the likes of Barcelona or Juventus.

Now, a little bit later, it’s Le10 Sport’s time to join the fray, claiming that Tottenham are out of the race altogether.

According to the French website, Rabiot and his entourage have turned down the offers from Mauricio Pochettino’s club, and the player’s mother, who also advises him professional, has, in the past few days, let the Spurs board know her son wasn’t ready to sign a contract with them, seemingly preferring a move to a more exotic destination.

Compared to the rest of the sources who have reported on this, Le10’s record isn’t the best, but it does follow a intriguing pattern.

Tottenham have gone from very interested to baulking at Rabiot’s demands, only to then be downgraded to third in line.

Now they’re apparently out.

We’ll believe it when we see it, but it’s not where things were meant to be heading.
