Tottenham Hotspur and Brentford are close to reaching an agreement for the transfer of goalkeeper David Raya, according to claims on Tuesday.
That’s today said by journalist Rudy Galetti, who, on Twitter, talks about how likely the transfer has become.
He highlights that Tottenham had been the only club in talks with Brentford to get the goalkeeper signed this summer.
It’s said that developments are ‘expected soon’ for a transfer which should cost between €20m and €25m.
In fact, Galetti shared a report last week which said Tottenham were the only club in the race. At the time, it was said the request from the Bees was between €45m and €50m, but Spurs were trying to bring that price down, especially because the goalkeeper is entering the final year of his contract.
David Raya joined Brentford back in 2019, when the Bees signed him in a €3.35m deal from Blackburn Rovers.
He’s made 161 appearances for the club so far, and played all of their Premier League games this season, with 46 goals conceded and 12 clean sheets.
It’s been a while since the European media started claiming Tottenham would go after a replacement for Hugo Lloris, and it seems Spurs didn’t need to go far to find their new man.
