As things stand, there are two clubs in the race to sign Joaquin Correa from Lazio: Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham.
The former of the two have already made an offer comprising of €20m cash and Pablo Sarabia, while Spurs, whose market is being organised by Fabio Paratici, have yet to make their move.
The problem for the French club is that Claudio Lotito, Lazio’s owner, ‘would like to collect only cash money from the sale’ of Correa, according to Corriere dello Sport, which is where Tottenham come in.
The Italian businessman ‘hopes that Spurs will come forward’, but it’s made clear the Premier League club, should they make an offer, ‘would not go beyond €30m’.
That’s where the dilemma lies for Lazio, as €20m + Sarabia would be an operation of about €40m, while getting €30m from Tottenham would allow them to go after Julian Brandt, on his way out of Borussia Dortmund.
Until Paratici makes his move, however, it’s advantage Paris Saint-Germain.
