While Tottenham were happy to pay €25m for Emerson Royal, Antonio Conte hasn’t been overly convinced with the defender.
He hasn’t had much choice when it comes to playing him, since there aren’t many other options in the Spurs squad, but if he can get an upgrade, he happily will.
That’s why there has been talk of a move for Pedro Porro, who appears to be the Tottenham manager’s first choice for the role at this moment in time.
Sporting CP are asking for his release clause, which stands at €45m, and his arrival could make Emerson Royal available on the transfer market.

Much like Achraf Hakimi, the Dutchman will be sold for a nice profit, and a replacement will be needed, which is where the Tottenham man comes in.
The website explain that the option of buying the Brazilian ‘could tease’ the Serie a side, because Tottenham ‘are not asking for more than €25m’ for their defender.
That would allow them to make their money back from the original expenditure and widely cut the their losses, all the while bringing in a far better player in Porro.
