On June 12th, we brought claims from Italy of Tottenham being in negotiations to sign Nico Gonzalez from Stuttgart.

Spurs were said to be ready to rival Fiorentina for the forward, and Gonzalez was described as a target who emerged for Tottenham during the Jose Mourinho era but was still wanted.

Tottenham were ‘thinking’ of making an offer, aware they’d have to go for a minimum of €25m plus bonus payments. Fiorentina had offered €22m plus €3m in bonuses and were seen as the major competition for the London club.

Now there’s a boost for Spurs, with Fiorentina.it, reporting, via their own information, La Viola are considering moving on to different targets. They put the offer at €22.5m plus bonuses, and explain there’s a stalemate, with the German club wanting €30m.

Therefore, Goncalo Guedes is becoming a possibility, with it thought Valencia could sell for less than €30m.

Tottenham interest is again mentioned, with Brighton & Hove Albion also said to be in the picture for Gonzalez this summer.
