Putting in some good performances since the return of the break, Hugo Lloris remains and will remain the main goalkeeper at Tottenham for some time.
However, as any well run club should do, there needs to be a plan when the veteran decides to either call it a day or return to France to finish his career.
That’s what Tottenham’s staff are trying to get José Mourinho to do, as they point him in the direction of Mike Maignan, currently at Lille.
The goalkeeper has been in good form since taking over from Vincent Enyeama, and with the Portuguese’s assistant having worked closely with the Frenchman in the past, he knows the player’s strengths and weaknesses.
Their interest has been reported a number of times, and it continues to be there, as Le10 Sport remind everyone Spurs are ‘monitoring the dossier very attentively’.
They are joined by Chelsea, who aren’t happy with Kepa Arrizabalaga, but ‘neither have transmitted an offer for now’.
As for Lille in all this, they are ‘patiently waiting and are listening to offers’.
They have already anticipated Maignan’s departure, signing Léo Jardim last summer and have promoted the ‘very promising’ Luca Chevalier to ensure the succession is smooth.
