Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Mattéo Guendouzi, who they’ll know from his time at Arsenal, according to claims from France.
On Twitter, Mohamed Toubache-Ter reveals that there’s an interesting English race going on for the 24-year-old.
Tottenham are just one of the interested sides, even though there’s not a lot said about Spurs’ interest, and they’re set to compete with Aston Villa and Newcastle United for the transfer.
It hasn’t been a long time since Guendouzi had been playing in London, since he belonged to Arsenal between 2018 and 2020.
The midfielder was loaned to Marseille in the summer of 2021, and his transfer was made permanent by the French side on a €11m move last year.
Following the good season he had in his home country, Guendouzi is now expected to be a lot more expensive. According to Toubache-Te, the Ligue 1 side are ‘hoping’ to make €32m with his sale, with bonuses included.
It’s still to be said whether Tottenham are willing to match that price. With Spurs still looking for a new manager and a new director of football, it’s hard to imagine the club making such an important decision before the new chiefs arrive.
