Continuing his good form since sealing a loan deal with Leicester City back in January, Youri Tielemans has given the Foxes something to think about.
The midfielder’s performances have led to the Premier League side kicking off talks about signing him permanently, which Brendan Rodgers admitted over the weekend.
However, they aren’t the only ones after Tielemans’ services, according to HLN, as Tottenham and Manchester United, forever in the mix, remain attentive.
The Belgian newspaper point out that Spurs are keener than the Red Devils as things stand, explaining they are still following him closely.
As for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, they reveal ‘he has a place on a long list of interesting targets, but is not yet a priority at the moment’.
With Manchester United needing some extra personnel in the middle of the park, as they brace themselves to potentially lose Ander Herrera, Tielemans could be a good option, even if he might step on Paul Pogba’s toes at times, also preferring some freedom in the final two thirds of the pitch.
Down Mauricio Pochettino’s end, it’s quite clear why they would be interested: they don’t have many out and out central midfielders.
Either way, it will cost a pretty penny (upwards of €40m) to acquire Tielemans’ services, so any decision taken on the matter will need to be carefully considered.
