Two days ago, Cadena Ser reported Valencia are waiting for Tottenham Hotspur to open the door for Bryan Gil to leave the north London club in the winter market.
The forward spent the second half of last season on loan at the Mestalla and Los Ches were keen on taking him again in the summer. However, a deal was not found with Spurs.
Valencia still maintains interest in the 21-year-old, but it won’t be easy for them to carry out a deal in January.
That’s according to Deporte Valenciano, who say Tottenham’s position and the cost of the deal has become a problem for the La Liga side.
The player ‘must take a step forward to want to come’ to the Spanish club, but it doesn’t mean he should force a move. Another factor that is needed to carry out the deal is to find an agreement with Tottenham.
It’s explained Gennaro Gattuso’s side want to take Gil on an 18-month loan deal with an inclusion of realistic purchase option.
The outlet states, ‘If all this happens, which is not crazy and it is very possible that we are not very far away, the man from Cádiz would be a Valencia player again…’
Valencia also cannot match the former Sevilla man’s current salary, meaning he would have to either take a pay cut or Tottenham need to pay part of his wages.
He ‘wants’ to return to Valencia and has ‘never hidden it’. Gil is ‘the signing that Valencia want’ and for the deal to take shape in January, it has to be a good operation for all parties involved.
