Tottenham midfielder Giovani Lo Celso is at ‘loggerheads’ with boss Antonio Conte, a situation Fiorentina are looking to take advantage of.
That’s according to Viola News, citing Repubblica Firenze, who say the Argentine could see the Italian side as a means by which to ‘relaunch’ himself.
They explain that the idea of a move for Lo Celso has been revived after he was left out of Tottenham’s latest squad, despite insisting on social media that he was fully fit.
It’s believed he is ‘at loggerheads’ with Conte, so could be shipped out before the end of the transfer window.
His arrival would be ‘very welcome’ at Fiorentina, but the operation would not be a simple one as he currently earns around €3.5m a year at Tottenham.
One possibility is that the deal gets linked to Sofyan Amrabat’s impending move to London, and despite those in charge at Fiorentina denying things, ‘there are contacts’ regarding a loan move.
This is backed up by intermediary Lorenzo De Santis, who says he’s also heard rumours of Lo Celso reportedly arriving on loan.
“The icing on the cake would be Lo Celso, and from Buenos Aires, I’m hearing rumours of his approval. I think something is there at the moment,” he told Tuttomercatowebf’.
“From memory, he gets between 2.5 and 3 million euros. Conte has been clear; when he arrived at Tottenham, he made a list of players who could leave, and the idea of relieving themselves of part of his salary for a few months can take hold.”
