Tottenham youngster Bryan Gil ‘would like’ to continue at Valencia next season, but the decision is Spurs’ to make.
That’s according to Super Deporte, who say the forward has made his desires clear after a successful loan spell so far.
He joined Valencia in January after struggling for game time at Tottenham after arriving from Sevilla in the summer.
He’s been a huge hit back in Spain, playing a starring role under Jose Bordalas and getting the regular minutes that he was craving.
Valencia are keen to keep him in some form next season, and the player has hinted he would be happy to stay, but Super Deporte report that ‘his continuity on loan depends on Tottenham’.
They explain that while Gil has ‘amazed’ everyone at the Mestalla and made himself an undisputed starter, they have no say in whether he will stay.
The player himself has made it clear that he would ‘like to continue one more year’ as he believes that getting regular minutes ahead of the World Cup in Qatar in November would be best for him.
He’s already a leader for Spain’s U21s and has seen that Spain boss Luis Enrique is willing to give youngsters a chance in the senior team if they are playing and performing.
That is something he’s had at Valencia, where he’s enjoyed ‘good minutes of quality’ since his arrival in January and would like to continue that.
However, ‘it is Tottenham who decides’, and they are yet to indicate whether they are willing to sanction another loan deal this summer.
