Tottenham youngster Lucas Bergvall’s new contract at Tottenham will make him one of the best paid at the club.

That’s according to Fotboll Direkt, who report that Bergvall has signed a ‘monster’ contract with Tottenham after a successful first year with them.

They explain that Bergvall signed a new long-term contract with Tottenham a few weeks ago but the terms of the deal were kept quiet.

They’ve now been able to discover the ‘lucrative terms’ handed to the midfielder in his new deal, which will run until 2031.

Tottenham have been left impressed by Bergvall’s development, particularly during the winter and spring, and have now handed him a deal worth a ‘whopping’ €5m per year.

However, there are clauses within that which could trigger the payment of several more millions. If met, he could earn around €8m per year in total.

Those figures mean he is close to the top earners in the Tottenham squad, such as Dejan Kulusevski. He earns €6.43m a year as a basic salary, excluding bonuses.

It’s a sign of how highly Tottenham value the midfielder, who has proven to be worth the battle they had to go through to sign him last summer.
