Tottenham forward Bryan Gil has been labelled a ‘different kind of footballer’ amid reports of a potential move to Real Sociedad.
The Spaniard is out of favour at Tottenham under Antonio Conte at present and so has been linked with a return to Spain before the end of this month.
Real Sociedad are believed to be keen on him, and according to several reports, talks are underway over a loan deal.
Diario Vasco back this up, stating that the player is ‘wanted’ by Sociedad on loan until the end of the season.
They take a look at the Tottenham man today and whether he would fit in with La Real, seeking out the opinion of two people who know him well.
These are Fran Garagarza, who signed Gil for Eibar, and Andoni Azkargorta, who worked with the youngster as a coach and ‘studied his performances exhaustively’.
The pair are big fans of the 20-year-old, with Azkargorta labelling him a “different kind of footballer” and Garagarza claiming he “has courage and daring in the game” and stating Gil adds “speed of two kinds” to a team, mental and physical.
Both believe he ‘would fit in well’ with Sociedad should he join on loan should they manage to get a deal done before the end of the transfer window.
None so more than Garagarza, who also hails Gil’s “maturity” and ability to deal with tough situations, as he did when on loan with Eibar, who were eventually relegated.
That, he says, was a “master’s degree” for the youngster, who he and Azkargorta would now like to see continue his education away from Tottenham, even if just for six months.
