Tottenham defender Joe Rodon is expected to travel to Rennes on Sunday ahead of a loan move to Stade Rennais.
That’s according to Ouest France, who say the French side are ‘close to finalising’ the defender’s move to the club.
Earlier today we covered a report from France that stated Stade Rennais had finalised a loan deal for Rodon, who is not a part of Antonio Conte’s plans.
Ouest France back that up, stating that the player has been loaned out by Tottenham for one year. That loan deal includes a purchase clause with an estimated cost of €20m.
They go one step further than their counterparts, though, and state that Rodon is expected to arrive in Brittany this weekend for his medical.
His arrival is planned for Sunday but ‘probably’ following Rennais’ last pre-season friendly against Aston Villa. The Welsh international is unlikely to be a part of the fixture.
That leave doubt about whether he will be available for the league opener against FC Lorient on Sunday 7th August. He will, though, be spending next season in France after Tottenham struck a deal for him to move to France.
