Reports about Sergio Reguilón leaving Tottenham Hotspur have intensified since Antonio Conte left him out of the pre-season trip to South Korea.
A potential return to Sevilla has been covered by a section of the Spanish media over the past week or so.
ABC Sevilla state the Tottenham left-back ‘continues to interest’ the La Liga side. A potential move for him would only take place once the latter manage to sell Jules Koundé.
If and when the Andalusian club offload the Frenchman, it would be easier for them to make an approach for Reguilón. That’s because the defender and Spurs are ‘looking for an exit’ this summer.
The Spain international wants to feature regularly to improve his chances of representing La Roja at the Qatar World Cup. Tottenham invested €30m on signing the player and would be looking to recover something close to this figure.
Sevilla ‘contemplate this situation rubbing their hands’ and remain hopeful the fullback’s other suitors don’t end up meeting the north London club’s demands.
Reguilón spent the 2019/20 season on loan at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán. For his part, he would be ‘delighted’ to return to Sevilla.
With all three parties interested in carrying out the deal, the Spaniard can rejoin Sevilla if they find an agreement with Tottenham.
