Espanyol are considering cancelling Alejo Veliz’s loan move at the club and sending him back to Tottenham early.
That’s according to AS, who say the 21-year-old finds himself in the ‘revolving door’ at the Spanish club and could be sent back to Tottenham as a result.
The newspaper reports that with the January transfer window now officially open, Espanyol are considering cutting the striker’s loan deal early after a disappointing time at club since arriving from Tottenham in the summer.
The Spanish side want to strengthen this month, but they need to let players go first to make room in the squad and lighten the wage bill.
They have several players ‘on the starting ramp’ in that regard and the Tottenahm loanee is one of them. Reports in England have claimed that Tottenham are looking to end the loan early and send him elsewhere and Espanyol would not see that ‘with bad eyes’.
They even allowed Veliz to join training late this week, with the rest of the group returning on Monday but him delayed until Thursday. He was the only one this was granted to.
The next few hours are seen as key to the prospect of developments, but it seems the growing feeling is that Veliz’s loan at Espanyol may be coming to a premature end.
