On Wednesday, we covered claims from Italy that Tottenham were in the race to sign Corentin Tolisso.
The French midfielder is currently in the final year of his contract at Bayern Munich, which has attracted a lot of suitors, including Spurs.
Calciomercato jump on this on Thursday, with their reporter Daniele Longo explaining that Fabio Paratici is a ‘longtime fan’ of Tolisso, and the Tottenham director of football ‘has activated with his agents to bring him’ to the north London club.
It’s made clear that there is ‘nothing advanced or defined’, leaving the door open for other clubs, but the transfer chief has definitely made the first move.
One thing that could play against Tottenham in all this is that ‘among Tolisso’s wishes would be to play in the Italian league’.
Juventus are keen, as are Inter and Roma, but his wages of €6m+/year are enough to put off most Serie A side.
That, once again, leaves Tottenham with an advantage over the competition, which will be music to Paratici’s ears.
