Links between Tottenham and Gian Piero Gasperini have appeared this week, as Spurs continue to consider their managerial options for the coming season.

Ryan Mason is in charge until the end of the current campaign, and there’s been suggestions the Premier League club could keep in the position longer term.

Gasperini claims have been picked up in Italy, most importantly by the Bergamo edition of Corriere della Sera.

Whilst they concede that there’s been contact between Tottenham and the Atalanta manager ‘in the past few hours’, and back this up twice in their article, there’s not a great deal of worry that the Italian will be walking out of Bergamo to move to London.

An Atalanta exit is thought to be unlikely regardless of anything else, and it’s then stated that even if Gasperini decided to leave the Serie A club, it’s much likelier he’d look elsewhere in Italy rather than leaving the country.

The only club that could tempt him is thought to be Juventus, yet even that isn’t considered a likely track.

As far as the local news in Bergamo is concerned, Gasperini won’t be jumping at the chance to manage Spurs.
