Tottenham Hotspur used the huge drama around the European Super League chaos to announce Jose Mourinho and his team had been relieved of their duties at the club.
That saw many rumours over who would replace the Portuguese coach, with Spurs later announcing Ryan Mason would lead the club until the end of the current season. A fairytale week for Mason was killed by Manchester City on Sunday, as Pep Guardiola’s side won the League Cup.
It’s unlikely the Englishman will have another chance to win a trophy with Tottenham, and attention will now turn to who Spurs see as the long term successor for Mourinho.
Julian Nagelsmann has been one of the men most linked with taking over at the London club, with the club being linked for quite a while. The RB Leipzig boss, however, is close to taking over at Bayern Munich, report Kicker.
They state the manager is ‘about to move’ to Bayern to replace Hansi Flick, and it’s reported RB Leipzig will look for €25m in compensation.
Should the move be completed it will be one major name off the list for Tottenham.
