Tottenham Hotspur are one of the clubs chasing Rayo Vallecano star Andrei Rațiu for the summer window.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who mention Tottenham when covering Barcelona’s interest in the right-back.

He joined Rayo Vallecano in 2023, and his minutes were limited last season. Rațiu’s game time has improved this season, with over 2,000 minutes from 25 games.

The Romania international’s form has seen Tottenham, Barcelona and others take notice. His name is on the Catalan club’s target list, and they are following with great interest.

Barca sporting director Deco talked about him with his representatives, who also manage Pedri and Ferran Torres.

Mundo warn about the competition they will face from other clubs to sign the 26-year-old. His suitors include Atlético Madrid, Villarreal, Tottenham, Bayer Leverkusen and AS Roma, along with Barcelona.

The fullback’s contract lasts until 2028, and the report states it includes a €25m release clause. This would be affordable for Spurs, but they must step up their efforts to sign him because Barca have already made contact with his agent.

With the growing interest, Mundo believe Rațiu could be one of the ‘protagonists’ of the next window.

Pedro Porro is the first choice right-back for Ange Postecoglou with Djed Spence as his backup. The Spurs manager has mainly used Spence as a left-back this season.
