Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly is not keen on a move to Tottenham this summer, despite Spurs’ efforts to secure his signature.
That’s according to CalcioMercato, who say Tottenham are among the ‘most interested clubs’ in his signature this summer.
Koulibaly is widely expected to leave Napoli this summer, with both him and the club agreeing now is the time for a parting of the ways.
Naturally, he’s been linked with clubs all over Europe, as is often the case when a top talent becomes available.
Tottenham are among those to have been linked and, according to CalcioMercato, the interest is very much there, with them ready to submit an ‘important’ offer to sign him this summer.
Unfortunately, it seems should they do so, they will be facing disappointment as he is not keen on joining the club.
It’s explained that while Koulibaly is ready to leave Napoli, he’s got his heart set on joining a ‘top club’ that can ensure him a ‘European showcase’; in other words, Champions League football.
He’s looking at joining the likes of Liverpool, PSG, Real Madrid or Barcelona and thus a switch to Tottenham is ‘not so attractive’ at this moment in time.
Of course, that does not rule out Spurs entirely, more that they need all the big clubs in Europe to reject Koulibaly before they’ve got a shot at signing him.
