Juventus are very good at transfers, and that’s been the case for some time now.
Since the club were relegated to Serie B after the match-fixing scandal, they’ve been building a strong structure in the background and that’s allowed them to dominate Italian football.
Players are, on the whole, signed for good prices and there’s the odd excellent free transfer thrown in. The key reason behind their transfer success is structure and planning, and it will have been noticed at other European clubs.
Fabio Paratici has worked successfully as a sporting director at Juventus, under CEO Beppe Marotta. With the latter set to leave the club, Calciomercato suggest Paratici could follow him, and Manchester United are pushed forward as a possibility.
It’s claimed several clubs have ‘knocked on the door’ for him during his time with Juve, including Tottenham, AC Milan, PSG and Barcelona. Marotta’s exit means that the next time it happens, the response could be different.
Predictably and understandably, Calciomercato suggest Manchester United could be the right option, should they swoop in. The club have been linked to a string of sporting directors, and few have a better body of work behind them than Paratici.
The Manchester United link makes some sense, but it’d also be no surprise to see Tottenham and others keeping an eye on the situation.
