Last June, Il Messaggero stated Tottenham Hotspur showed interest in Roger Ibañez and were willing to offer €30m to AS Roma.
Three months later, reports from Italy stated Spurs made multiple inquiries for the defender but were driven away because of the high asking price.
These claims are highlighted by Forza Roma today and they add the 24-year-old is back on Tottenham’s agenda.
The asking price is justifiable due to his progress and for making it to the Brazil squad for the upcoming international break. He recently met with his own agent and the report states this wouldn’t be accidental.
Regarding Tottenham, it’s said they have ‘knocked on the door again’ and Antonio Conte’s future would have no impact on their approach for the South American.
The coach’s deal expires in June and his future remains unclear after Spurs were knocked out of the Champions League on Wednesday.
With Roma setting a price tag and Ibañez meeting his agent, likely to discuss his future, he could change clubs in the summer. Tottenham are expected to be one of the options for him.
